I just looked over a great book that provides some interesting and helpful insight for Suzuki students and parents. From Suzuki to Mozart provides a short history and facts for each piece in the Suzuki violin repertoire all the way through book 10. These tidbits can really help inspire and motivate students working through a piece, or even looking ahead to future pieces. Historical context takes music out of the vacuum of our narrow experience and enlightens our performances--even for Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star!
