Piano Lessons with Vivian N.
Hi! My name is Vivian, and I’m an undergraduate student at The Catholic University of America studying Pre-Law. My musical journey began in kindergarten with one-on-one piano lessons, where my teacher instilled in me a deep appreciation for every classical genre—from the Baroque and Classical periods to the Romantic and Contemporary eras. Under her guidance, I had the privilege of performing works by legendary composers such as Bach, Handel, Chopin, Mozart, Beethoven, and Debussy.
In 2022, I completed the Oregon Music Teachers Association (OMTA) Level X Syllabus Exam, marking the culmination of my formal music training. Over the years, I’ve participated in more than 30 piano competitions, consistently striving for excellence and proudly bringing home numerous awards. These competitions instilled in me a sense of confidence that I always carry around within me—to never fold under pressure.
Beyond classical performance, I am also skilled in notating complex jazz chords and composing original music. I firmly believe in the transformative power of mastering an instrument—the cognitive and personal benefits are impeccable. Learning music requires time, dedication, and discipline, which is exactly what makes the journey worth every uphill!
Having once been a one-on-one student myself, I understand how private lessons can shape both a person’s mindset and musical skills. With my students, I emphasize that when talent doesn’t work hard, hard work beats talent. I am deeply grateful to City Strings & Piano for the opportunity to help inspire and guide young musicians in their own musical journeys.
