Piano Lessons with Vanja K.

My name is Vanja Kazic, and I’m a classically trained pianist and music educator with over twelve years of teaching experience in Montenegro, Greece, and now Washington, D.C. I hold a Master’s Degree in Harmony and Harmonic Analysis, and have taught piano, solfege, and music theory in both schools and private studios. I’ve had the joy of working with children and adults from many parts of the world — including international and embassy families — and I love helping each student build confidence, discipline, and genuine joy in music.

My teaching style is structured but warm, always adapting to the student’s personality, pace, and goals. During my lessons, we explore music from different styles and cultures — from classical pieces to modern and traditional melodies from around the world. I encourage students to listen, compare, and play pieces that open their ears to the world. As a pianist, I’m detail-oriented and passionate about helping students understand not only how to play, but why music moves us.

Outside of teaching, I’m an avid traveler who finds inspiration in discovering new sounds, places, and art. For me, music lessons are more than practice — they’re about connection, creativity, and helping every student feel proud of what they can express through music.
