Violin & Viola Lessons with Laura M.

Laura is a violin and viola teacher and active violist based in Seattle, Washington. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts and Philosophy from Seattle University and is currently completing a Master of Music in Musicology. Laura brings both strong performance experience and a thoughtful, individualized teaching approach to her work with students of all ages and levels.

Laura has several years of teaching experience, including private instruction in violin and viola and coaching young musicians in both individual and ensemble settings. Her teaching emphasizes healthy technique, musical curiosity, and confidence, while adapting lessons to each student’s goals—whether they are learning for enjoyment, preparing for auditions, or developing strong foundational skills. She is especially passionate about helping students build a positive relationship with music that supports long-term growth.

As a performer, Laura is an active orchestral violist and has worked with regional symphony orchestras throughout Washington State. She has participated in masterclasses with internationally recognized performers and values bringing insights from professional performance into the teaching studio.

Laura believes music education should be supportive, structured, and inspiring. She strives to create a welcoming learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore their creativity while developing strong technical and musical foundations.
