Piano Lessons with Mandalyn S.
Mandalyn is a highly skilled and versatile musician, educator, and composer with over 30 years of experience in the world of music. She received private piano instruction from the St. Louis Symphony Community School of Music and graduated from Webster University in 2001 with a Bachelor's degree in Music, emphasizing Music Theory and Composition.
Mandalyn has dedicated much of her life to teaching, leading musical ensembles, and instructing students of all ages in Piano Studies. With a strong foundation in formal classroom music education, she has worked with students ranging from Kindergarten to 8th grade. She also serves as a choral accompanist for both large and small community choirs, and has debuted 11 original choral works since 1996.
A passionate and accomplished performer, Mandalyn has sung and played at a wide variety of venues, including the Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis, as well as numerous sacred and secular events throughout the St. Louis Metro area. As a singer/songwriter, her original works span a range of genres and have earned her a devoted following. In 2002, she was invited by the Instead of War Coalition to perform at a rally and march in St. Louis. Mandalyn’s music has also led to exciting collaborations with local artists, including breathtaking duets with vocalist Amy James of Trigger 5, and guest appearances with numerous local bands and ensembles.
Her musical expertise is not confined to performance. Mandalyn specializes in creating diverse scores for digital and commercial projects, particularly in slideshow and video montage digital scoring. She works with local artists to produce promotional advertisements and press release materials, blending her creative talents into an expansive array of projects.
Mandalyn's music is infused with spiritual depth, reflecting her belief in social justice and peace. In 2010, she served as a guest breakout facilitator for the Catholic Educator's Institute, presenting on the topic Walkingfires: Creating a Culture of Peace in the Classroom.
Her education also extends beyond music: Mandalyn holds a Masters in Pastoral Studies from Aquinas Institute and is regularly invited to lead retreats, direct prayer services, and facilitate discussions on faith, social justice, and spiritual reflection. As a writer and public speaker, she composes printed and instrumental spiritual materials and continues to inspire communities through her work.
