Guitar & Bass Lessons with Matt L.

Born in 1997 in St. Louis Missouri, Matt, started playing guitar at the age of 11.  By the age of 12, he took a serious interest in blues and started studying the masters such as Albert King, B.B. King, and Muddy Waters. At the age of 16, he was taken in and mentored by Blues legend Big George Brock and quickly became Big George’s lead guitar player. After performing at many national blues festivals across the country with Big George, Matt quickly became a seasoned veteran at an early age. In November 2023, Matt was part of the Chicago Blues Festival European Tour along with Marquise Knox, Dexter Allen, and Lady A. The tour lasted 5 weeks, and they traveled all around France as well as Denmark, Belgium, and the Czech Republic. He graduated from Webster University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies and has been teaching guitar for 6 years.
