Violin & Viola Lessons with Tim M.
Tim M, violinist, performer, and registered occupational therapist, has loved playing music on stage for as long as he can remember. After initial violin training with his mother, he later studied with Adam DeGraf (Richmond Symphony) and Wanchi Huang (James Madison University) before heading to Brigham Young University to obtain his Bachelor’s degree in 2015, studying with LeeAnn Morgan, Alex Woods and Monte Belknap. Honoring his other interests in human health and occupation, Tim traveled to Minnesota to obtain a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (2020). He recently completed a Master of Music: Performance degree from The Pennsylvania State University in May of this year, studying with Professor James Lyon as a graduate teaching assistant.
Tim aspires to three core values in music performance: creativity, integrity, and humanity. In his current stage of artistic and professional development, Tim combines his professional experience as violin teacher, performer, and occupational consultant to not only play great music, but also to help colleagues and students who are struggling with the intense occupational demands of professional music. Tim currently performs with the Northwest Symphony Orchestra in the role of Principle 2nd Violin.
