Piano, Violin & Viola Lessons with Lili Jammes
Born and raised here in Seattle, experiencing and playing music has always been a vital part of Lili’s life. From learning piano and viola as a child to playing in symphony orchestras and pit orchestras in high school onwards, playing music as a means of creative expression has been particularly important for her as a composer. Lili received a BFA in Music Composition from Tulane University in New Orleans, and an MA in Screen Scoring from the Seattle Film Institute. Her music has been performed in Seattle, New Orleans, and São Paulo, Brazil, and has been played by soloists, chamber ensembles, and symphony orchestras.
Lili is classically trained and also has experience with musical theater, contemporary music and film music. Some of her favorite composers to play and listen to are Frederic Chopin, Krzysztof Penderecki, and Danny Elfman.
Having taught piano, violin, and viola for several years with a variety of ages ranging from 3 to 43, Lili understands the importance of having a flexible teaching method that adapts to the learning styles and needs of individual students. Music as a means of self expression and creativity is central to her philosophy, and she incorporates music theory, history, and improvisation into her lessons when appropriate
