Violin, Viola & Piano Lessons with Clare H.
Clare is a passionate violinist and violist based in San Diego, California, currently pursuing an Artist's Diploma in Conducting and Violin Performance at San Diego State University (SDSU). She completed her Master of Music in Violin Performance in 2024, following a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from California State University Northridge in 2020. Clare has a strong presence in the San Diego music community, founding the Amicitia Chamber Orchestra in 2024, where she manages all aspects of the organization, from fundraising to production coordination.
In addition to her leadership in the chamber orchestra, Clare serves as a Graduate Assistant at SDSU’s School of Music and Dance and assists in producing the Campanile Music Festival. Her private studio, which she’s maintained since 2015, includes both violin and viola students, with notable achievements such as two students performing in a masterclass with renowned violinist Midori. Clare's performance experience spans a wide range of roles, including concertmaster of the SDSU Symphony and Chamber Orchestras, and assistant concertmaster of the City Ballet Orchestra and Desert Community Orchestra.
Her honors include Outstanding Graduate Student (2024) and graduation summa cum laude (2020). Clare is also a member of the Pi Kappa Lambda Honor Society and a three-time winner of the DCO Young Artists Competition.
