Violin Lessons with Hiroshi M.
Hiroshi M. is a violinist and choir director whose training spans the classical and improvisatory traditions. He studied violin under Joseph Golan, second violinist of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, as well as Karen Elaine of the San Diego Symphony and Paramount Studios. He developed his practice in improvisation and jazz under the guidance of George Lewis and Muhal Richard Abrams of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians. His work as a violinist and collaborator has been featured on recordings and in performances in Berlin, at the Guggenheim Museum, the New Museum, the Studio Museum in Harlem, and Performa. A 2026 recipient of the Xenia Anton Desby and Dr. Frank Desby Memorial Church Music Scholarship from the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco, he currently serves as Choir Director at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, California.
