My name is Emily, and I have a Masters in Piano Performance from the University of Southern California’s Thornton School Music. In addition to my personal dedication to music, I have been teaching classical piano for 10 years. I am dedicated to providing a high-quality classical music education with a focus on classically inspired curriculum emphasizing note reading, technique, music theory, and performance. My passion is to offer all of my students a comprehensive and well-rounded music education that will enable them to develop learning habits that can be carried into all aspects of their lives, and musical skills that will allow them to enjoy the music of their choice with ease and confidence. It is through the foundational skill acquisition found in the classical tradition that students will acquire the knowledge to pursue the musical style of their choice including but not limited to the classical repertoire, jazz and popular music. Students are actively encouraged to learn music of their own selection alongside and supplementing music from selected teaching methodologies including but not limited to Faber, FJH, Kieth Snell, and Royal Conservatory collections. In addition, I will individually select classical repertoire curated to the interests, skill development needs, and personal style preferences of the individual. I am excited to share what I love about music education with students of all ages, skill levels, and musical interests!
