Cello Lessons with Rachel B.
Rachel is a cellist based in Pittsburgh, PA. She holds a M.M. from Carnegie Mellon University and a B.M. in Cello Performance from Wheaton College. As an orchestral musician, Rachel has performed with the Carnegie Mellon University Philharmonic, the Credo National Festival Orchestra, the Wheaton College Symphony Orchestra, and the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra. Rachel is also an experienced chamber musician having won first prize in the Carnegie Mellon University Chamber Competition in 2025 and Honorable Mention at the 2023 Chamber Music Competition at Wheaton College. She was a member of the Carnegie Mellon University Honors Quartet for the 2024-2025 season and a member of the Fellowship Quartet at the 2023 Credo Chamber Music Festival. Rachel has also performed as a part of a string ensemble at Carnegie Hall for the Getty’s 2022 “Sing! An Irish Christmas” tour. Rachel’s primary teachers include Anne Martindale Williams, Leonardo Altino, Andrew Rammon, and Alicia Randisi-Hooker.
In addition to performing, Rachel also enjoys teaching and is passionate about making classical music accessible to people from all backgrounds. Prior to relocating to Pittsburgh, Rachel held a private studio in Williamsport, PA.
