Violin & Piano Lessons with Vanda P.
Originally from Montréal, Vanda began her musical studies at the age of six with Dorota Milczarek. In 2012, she won the Dolce Musica Concerto Competition where she made her soloist debut, performing Bach’s Concerto in A minor. Graduating with a master’s degree and an artist's diploma in violin performance from New York University, where she studied with Giora Schmidt, Vanda has played in masterclasses for Qianqian Li, Yehonatan Berick, Denise Lupien, Ian Swensen, Andrew Wan, as well as the Gryphon Trio, the Penderecki String Quartet and the Dali Quartet. She was a member of Orford Music Academy for six years, where she was featured in their Rising Stars-On the Road Series. In 2022, she completed her Bachelor of Music at the University of Ottawa with Yehonatan Berick. During her time in Ottawa, she played in the Ottawa Symphony as a member and was featured as a soloist in the Harmelodic Music Series and Dominion Chalmers Noon Hour Series.
A huge fan of opera, Vanda led the New York University orchestra as concertmaster in their productions of Mozart’s Idomeneo, as well as Puccini’s Gianni Schicci and Suor Angelica. She has performed at Lincoln Center, Neidorff-Karpati Hall, Maison Symphonique, Jones Hall, St. Patrick`s Cathedral and Southam Hall. An active violin and piano teacher, Vanda has always ensured the best methods are used to suit each student. She has held the position of graduate adjunct violin teacher at NYU Steinhardt where she was able to teach undergraduate students of all levels. She has also held private studios in Ottawa, Montreal and New York City, and she takes pride in using a variety of methods, from Suzuki Violin School to Barbara Barber. She currently resides in New York City where she is able to freelance and teach around the city.
