Mia C. is a professional violist with extensive international performance experience and a strong academic background. She has performed with ensembles such as the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, Princeton Symphony Orchestra, The Syracuse Orchestra (Assistant Principal), Artosphere Festival Orchestra, and the National Symphony Orchestra of Taiwan, and actively performs chamber music.
Her musical training includes studies at the Manhattan School of Music, Eastman School of Music, and the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore, where she received multiple full and endowed scholarships. She studied with distinguished artists and pedagogues including Paul Neubauer, Masumi Rostad, and Shmuel Katz, and has participated in international music festivals across the United States and Asia as a scholarship recipient.
As an educator, Mia is dedicated to developing students’ technical foundations, musical understanding, and confident performance skills. She integrates music theory flexibly into her teaching and adapts her pedagogical approach to each student’s individual learning style, goals, and progress. Emphasizing efficient practice, musical interpretation, and expressive playing, she supports students from beginner to advanced levels in becoming thoughtful, well-rounded musicians.
