Violin Lessons with Kathryn C

Kathryn C is a graduate of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where she

earned her bachelor’s degree in violin performance while studying with Professor Grigory

Kalinovsky. She has learned from and performed with world-renowned artists such as Ani

Kavafian, Joshua Bell, Vadim Gluzman, Shmuel Ashkenasi, and Pinchas Zukerman. Alongside

her work as a performer, Kathryn has been teaching privately for over ten years and loves

helping students of all ages grow as musicians. She has taught at programs such as the IU

Summer String Academy and Velocity Music Academy, and she is passionate about creating a

supportive and encouraging environment where every student can develop confidence and joy

in their playing. Kathryn incorporates a technique-based approach in her teaching, with an

emphasis on keeping the body relaxed and free, so that students can play with ease and

expression. She currently resides in Washington Heights
