Violin, Viola & Piano Lessons with Camilla C.

Camilla is a classically trained violinist, pianist, composer, educator and tech director. Camilla recently graduated with her second Masters, in Composition and Performance (4.0) at Mannes The New School under Curtis Macomber and Stefan Jackiw after graduating with a Professional Studies Diploma, while being awarded the American Australian Arts Fund Scholar of 21. She has also worked as a touring sessional violinist and pianist, having been invited to perform in China, Singapore, Austria, Italy, Germany and in the UK, Australia and the US.

A passionate educator, Camilla has taught for the last decade, students of all ages from 3 upwards both one on one and in a group setting. She has also tutored various ensembles of many genres in schools and Universities. She has taught theory, composition, strings, piano, percussion and created orchestral and chamber programs within schools. She was awarded an assistantship to Florida State University for a Masters in Violin Performance, where she taught privately, has studied pedagogy under Prof Daniel Panner at Mannes and previously been a head of strings at a high school.

Camilla began her studies of piano at age 8 and quickly grew to love both performing and composing through the piano. Her piano compositions have been premiered at The New School and she has enjoyed performing and teaching piano around New York and Australia. Camilla has extensive knowledge in both piano and violin repertoire and encourages her students to have a solid foundation in technique, musicality and love of their instrument.

An enthusiastic orchestral, chamber and pit musician, Camilla has performed with Australian International Opera Company, Melbourne Opera Company, Young New Yorkers Chorus, Orchestre de la Francophonie, Australian Discovery Orchestra, Australasian Orchestra, Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra and South Georgia Ballet. She is also a passionate advocate for new music, Camilla composes and collaborates with multi-disciplinary performers to premiere new works. She mixes electronics, improvisation and choreography and has performed with Contemporaneous ensemble, Blackbox ensemble and has also won scholarships to perform at many international music festivals, including Brevard, Bang on a Can and Berlin Opernfest. She has also had residencies at MIT reality hack, Peabody and Mannes Pre college.
