Piano Lessons with Sarah Abrams
Sarah Abrams is a flute and piano teacher based in NYC. Sarah began playing the piano when she was 3 years old, and began the flute when she was 7 years old. Sarah received a Master of Music degree from NYU Steinhardt and holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Sarah is passionate about performing, and freelances throughout NYC with groups such as the Chelsea Symphony. She has performed in many venues throughout the city, such as Lincoln Center and Symphony Space. Sarah loves to play classical music, in addition to Broadway, Jazz, and Irish Music.
At NYU, Sarah served as an Adjunct Instructor at NYU where she taught flute lessons to NYU students, in addition to her students outside of NYU. Sarah played in many ensembles at NYU, including the NYU Chamber Orchestra, the Broadway Orchestra, and in various chamber ensembles. Sarah participated in the New York Flutists, and performed with the group at the National Flute Convention, which was held in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2019.
Sarah is a co-founder of Prime Winds, which is a Woodwind Quintet based in NYC. Prime Winds aims to incorporate music along with various art forms, and has commissioned several pieces. Sarah participated in the Imani Winds Chamber Music Festival in 2019 with Prime Winds. Prime Winds has recorded Divertimento for Wind Quintet op.4 by Hanns Eisler, which is featured in Eisler's estate.
Sarah is also a co-founder of a Flute and Horn Duo, Sage. Sage is currently commissioning and working with composers to put on a recital in 2021 with new repertoire for the instrumentation.
