Piano Lessons with Kiki Xiaoman Liu

Kiki Xiaoman Liu embarked on her musical journey at the age of 8, with the piano as her primary instrument. By her third year of piano study, she discovered a passion for music composition, which has been a central part of her artistic expression ever since. She has spent over a decade honing her craft, beginning with her studies at The Music Middle School Affiliated with the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.

Kiki continued her formal education at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Music Composition. Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Music Composition at Mannes School of Music, deepening her understanding of contemporary music while exploring her unique voice as a composer.

As a teacher, Kiki Xiaoman Liu strives to create an environment where students are encouraged to explore their musical ideas and develop their creativity alongside technical skills. She believes in the importance of understanding both the structural and emotional elements of music, and she tailors her approach to meet the individual needs of each student. By fostering curiosity and building confidence, Kiki aims to guide her students toward becoming expressive and thoughtful musicians who can engage with music on a deep, personal level. Through a balance of disciplined practice and creative exploration, she helps students find joy in the process of making music.
