Alexis Mitrushi, Violin, Viola & Piano Teacher

 

Alexis Mitrushi recently graduated early in 3.5 years with her Bachelor’s Degree in Viola Performance, as well as a minor in GSFS, studying with Kirsten Docter. She is originally from Houston, Texas and began her studies with Teresa Han from the age of 12, originally starting her musical endeavors on piano from the age of 8. She has worked with musicians such as Dimitri Murrath, Ivo Jan Van der Werff, Yu Jin, Lynne Ramsay, Julia Clancy, Eric Wong, Karen Ritscher, Suzanne LeFevre, and Andrea Bocelli. She has attended Encore & Chautauqua music festivals, and she has served as principal of the Oberlin Orchestra, Oberlin Chamber Orchestra,

Oberlin Sinfonietta, and Chautauqua Music Festival Orchestra. She has served as a substitute violist of the Firelands Symphony Orchestra and has worked as an usher for Oberlin + Chautauqua. Her teaching experience includes being a viola TA for Oberlin Arts + Sciences Orchestra, viola coach for Northern Ohio Youth Orchestra, and a viola + piano teacher on Outschool,com. In fall of 2022, she will be pursuing a Master’s Degree at Mannes School of Music for viola performance, studying with Daniel Panner. Outside of music, Alexis enjoys baking, being outside, and having wonderful conversations with loved ones.
