Piano Lessons with Vaana H.

Vaana H. (b. 2000) began her musical studies at an early age, learning piano, violin, and flute before starting classical voice training at the age of twelve. By thirteen, she had already been awarded the DipABRSM in Piano Performance with distinction, followed two years later by the LRSM diploma from the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM).

She has earned recognition in numerous competitions, including First Prize in the Senior Category of the Singapore Yamaha Piano Competition, Finalist in the 2011 National Piano and Violin Competition (Junior Category), and Silver Medalist at the 2013 Asian Chopin Competition in Tokyo. In 2017, she was named a winner in the piano category of the Grand Prize Virtuoso International Competition.

Vaana is deeply grateful to her mentors, among them pianists Prof. Cordelia Höfer-Teutsch and Clarence Lee Zheng Le, and vocal teachers Prof. Barbara Bonney, Rosalind Plowright and Catherine Malfitano.

Since 2023, she has held a Pre-College Degree in Voice Performance and two Bachelor’s degrees in Piano and Voice Pedagogy from the University of Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Vocal Performance at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City, studying with Prof. Susan Quittmeyer.

Alongside her solo performances, Vaana is also active as a piano accompanist and opera répétiteur, collaborating with both singers and instrumentalists in recital and rehearsal settings.
