Piano Lessons with Lorenzo P.

A New York-based writer, performer, and music director, Lorenzo holds his BM from Northwestern University in voice and musical theater, with an additional concentration in musical theater writing and music direction; and his MFA from NYU’s Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program, where he developed his thesis musical THE ANGEL MAKERS. THE ANGEL MAKERS was performed as part of the @Abrons Series in August 2023, and just completed a reading after being selected to pilot a collaborative program between NYU’s Graduate Acting Department and the GMTWP. THE ANGEL MAKERS recently finished an a reading at Western Connecticut State University. His original musical CHANGE MY MIND was developed by the American Musical Theatre Project and the Dolphin Show at Northwestern University. Lorenzo served as the music director for The Dolphin Show, the largest student produced musical in the country. Lorenzo has written original music for many shows around New York, including writing music for 8 new original plays by young people through The 52nd Street Project. He recently music directed the Village Light Opera Group’s production of Tale of Two Cities The Musical, and will be MDing the Main Street Theater's production of Godspell Jr. this winter. Lorenzo works as a piano and voice teacher around New York, and specializes in approaching playing an instrument as an exercise not just in performance, but music theory, technique, and oftentimes some aspects of composition. Lorenzo was trained in the Suzuki method growing up, which he incorporates into his teaching. Lorenzo most loves finding what makes a student feel most passionate and finding the best ways to help them get better. Lorenzo has played piano and sung in countless contexts and genres, and hopes to work with you soon!
