Piano Lessons with Isabella Ashton

After beginning her classical piano training at the age of six, Isabella Ashton quickly fell in love with the instrument. Although she works as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist, Isabella is most drawn to teaching, a profession she believes most aligns with her desire to support and promote new musicians. Isabella began teaching in high school to a wide range of students. Through her undergraduate program, Isabella was able to complete extensive pedagogical training, which emphasized child psychology and holistic wellness for all students, a philosophy that drives Isabella’s teaching style. She hopes to not only instill proper technique and a passion for music in her students, but also a well-rounded education complete with performance-anxiety training that will enhance other aspects of her students’ lives. Additionally, Isabella is a composer who frequently performs her original works with an ensemble, acting as both the keyboardist and vocalist. She enjoys playing funk, indie rock, and experimental music, and she programs works by underrepresented composers at many of her performances.

Currently, Isabella is pursuing her masters in music theory and composition with an emphasis on songwriting at NYU. Isabella graduated magna cum laude with her BM in piano performance at the University of Denver in 2023.
