Piano Lessons with Hanbyeol Lee
I fell in love with the keyboard music of Bach and Mozart when I was 6 years old. Thanks to my parents and teachers, I was able to study music throughout my life and my interest in early music blossomed.
As a professional pianist and early keyboard specialist, I participated in many festivals and concerts in North America, Europe, and South Korea. I was the first-prize winner of Wanda Landowska International Harpsichord Competition, and awarded the Gold award of the Kiwanis Piano Competition in Canada.
Since I appreciate my early experience with great musicians and teachers, I am interested in teaching children and supporting their music education. I have taught private piano lessons to students of all ages and abilities since 2010, including teaching for the Salvation Army Art Institution in Philadelphia. I also volunteered as the piano accompanist for children's musicals, and as a judge for Naples Middle High School's Music Booster scholarship in Napels, Italy. To become a better piano instructor, I participated in the Dorothy Taubman Seminar, and added this to my pedagogy to help children safely and ergonomically develop their piano technique.
I am currently pursuing my Graduate Diploma in Historical Performance at The Juilliard School, and performing with world-class musicians. I previously studied at Conservatorio di Cimarosa in Naples, Italy. Prior to this, I completed two Master's Degrees at Temple University, double-majoring in piano and harpsichord performance with a minor in fortepiano.
