Piano Lessons with Cheryl B.

Cheryl B. is a pianist, organist, and music educator. Originally a native of South Florida, she began studying piano at a young age. She majored in piano at the Peabody Conservatory of Music and then received a Master of Music in Musicology from Florida State University. She earned her Doctor of Musical Arts from Boston University, where she held the position of Staff Pianist.

After completing her graduate work, Cheryl became interested in teaching. She was piano accompanist and co-presenter for a series of music appreciation concerts given in New York City schools. She has performed at the Smithsonian Institution, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and Langston Hughes Community Library, among other venues.Cheryl is an enthusiastic collaborative musician and has studied diverse performance traditions. Her approach to teaching emphasizes creativity, good technique, and exploration of a world of musical sounds.
