Piano Lessons with Caitlin D.
Caitlin D. is an organist and pianist who resides in New York City. Caitlin freelances regularly as an organist, appearing at “Avenue” parishes. Caitlin has served at West End United Methodist Church in Nashville, Tennessee, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Atlanta, GA and most recently as Director of Music & Organist at Reformed Church of Bronxville in Bronxville NY. She has given recitals across the Southeast, Northeast and throughout Germany and Austria, including First Presbyterian NYC, Decatur Presbyterian in Atlanta, GA, and Magdeburg Dom in Magdeburg, Germany.
As a pianist, Caitlin excelled throughout her high school and undergraduate years, performing in master classes with noted pianists Ann Schein, Anton Nel, Elizabeth Pridonoff, and Alexander Melnikov. During the summers, Caitlin participated in intensive performance programs, including Brevard Summer Music Festival and the prestigious SUNY New Paltz Piano Summer where she performed in Steinway Hall in New York City. Her teachers include Elizabeth Pridgen, Vladimir Feltsman, Dr. Robert Roux, Sandra Wright-Shen, and Susan Starr to name a few. Caitlin has continued her work as a pianist primarily in the collaborative realm. Since moving to New York City she has become an active collaborator with many of the members of the Metropolitan Opera Chorus and with Bronx Opera.
Caitlin has maintained an active teaching studio throughout her entire career, from teaching countless five-year-olds to amateur adults. She worked at Georgia Academy of the Blind teaching visually impaired children piano, and has always felt strongly that all students have the ability to succeed at the instrument with the right teacher.
