Cellist Paul Swensen studied with Dr. Natasha Farny at SUNY Fredonia where he earned his B.M. in Cello Performance and a Performer’s Certificate. At Fredonia, Paul was awarded the Isaac Stern Award for outstanding string player and was honored to perform in a masterclass for Yo-Yo Ma.
Paul continued his studies at SUNY Purchase where he earned his M.M. and Artist Diploma under the tutelage of Julia Lichten. Paul has performed in the cello sections of several orchestras including the Buffalo Philharmonic, Harrisburg Symphony, New Haven Symphony and Sarasota Opera.
While teaching in the greater Westchester/NYC area for the past eight years, Paul has reached cello and piano students of all ages and skill levels. As a teacher, Paul believes that music is for everyone and hopes to leave his students with a passion and enjoyment for music in all of its forms.
