Cello Lessons with Mercedes Yvonne Lysaker

Mercedes Yvonne Lysaker is a cellist and teacher located in New York City. She holds degrees from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and Columbia University Teachers College in cello performance and music education, and she is an active member of the Suzuki cello community. She specializes in pre-college strings with an emphasis on student-centered instruction. Her research focuses on the relational nature of music and music education, as well as issues of cultural relevance in contemporary string pedagogy. She performs classical fusion as well as metal and alternative music, composing and recording from her home studio.
