Cello Lessons with Amy Anwar

Amy Anwar is an experienced teacher and performer who earned her MM at the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she gained experience as a certified Suzuki cello teacher and studied cello with Merry Peckham and Suzuki Pedagogy with Melissa Kraut. She most recently taught at the Interlochen Arts Camp where she also performed with the Bird String Quartet. Amy has performed with the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra and the Dayton Philharmonic and is a DMA candidate at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where she studied with William Grubb.

Amy has won chamber music awards in Ohio and several solo awards throughout Illinois and Iowa. Originally from Burlington, Iowa, she has performed and won grand prizes at competitions with the Southeast Iowa Symphony and the Des Moines Symphony and received her BM at the University of Iowa. She has worked with several renowned musicians from around the world, including members of the Cleveland String Quartet, Quatuor Ebène and the Juilliard String Quartet, along with members of the Chicago Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Houston Symphony and the Cleveland Orchestra.
