 Julia Fisher, violin, resides in Nashville, TN. As a violinist, Julia is motivated to share music with audiences and students to engage the community in a rewarding cultural and educational experience. She is all about inspiring and encouraging others to learn about music and to grow in their understanding and abilities while maintaining a professional standard of excellence.

Julia received a Bachelor of Music degree from Belmont University (Nashville, TN) where she studied with Elisabeth Small, Tammy Rogers King, and Paul Johnian. While at Belmont, she served as concertmaster of the University Symphony Orchestra, and was a member of the Belmont Classical String Quartet. Julia was then awarded a Fellowship Award and Graduate Teaching Associateship to attend The Ohio State University where she earned a Master of Music degree in Violin Performance.  She studied privately with Dr. Kia-Hui Tan, and received chamber music coachings from cellist Mark Rudoff and acclaimed clarinet soloist and recording artist, Caroline Hartig. While in Ohio, Julia performed with the Newark-Granville Symphony Orchestra, the Columbus Dance Theater, Opera Project Columbus, and for many doctoral chamber recitals.

Since returning to Nashville, Julia has taught private violin and viola students in many settings: at Lipscomb Academy and Lipscomb University, the Roots Academy, in various Metro Nashville Public schools, and in her home. She has worked with students from the Tennessee Youth Symphony, the Music City Youth Orchestra, and at the Belmont String Crossings Camp. In addition to teaching, Julia is an active performer. She regularly performs in the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, Paducah Symphony Orchestra, Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, with the Nashville Composer Collective, and in other chamber music settings. Julia has recorded with Nashville Music Scoring and other solo artists. She also plays music at her church and for weddings and other events. She enjoys performing in any environment that promotes live music performance for the entertainment and edification of the greater Nashville community.
