Violin Lessons with Rachel Petruconis
Rachel Petruconis began her violin career at the age of 4 under Suzuki teacher Ellen Kim. She has since studied with her mother Laurie Petruconis, Erin Keefe, Daria Adams, and, currently, Allison Ostrander. Rachel participated in the Minnesota Youth Symphonies for ten years, including five years in the Symphony Orchestra under Manny Laureano, traveling with the orchestra for a historic tour of Cuba in 2017. She is also the second violinist of the Lusch quartet and performs frequently in other small ensembles throughout the Twin Cities.
Rachel began teaching violin lessons in 2015 as an independent violin teacher. She launched a grade school string program at St. Agnes School where she teaches private lessons to students in kindergarten through sixth grade. She loves the Suzuki method because of its focus on listening to all kinds of music outside of practice and because of Dr. Suzuki’s belief in allowing each individual student to learn through his/her own unique style and pace.
Outside of music, Rachel is in her final year of studies at the University of St. Thomas, where she is double majoring in English (Professional Writing) and Catholic Studies.
