Micah Vogel, Violin
Micah Vogel is a musician and educator currently living in Chicago. Micah holds a Bachelor's of Music in Violin Performance from University of the Pacific, where he studied violin and pedagogy under Dr. Ann Miller.
While pursuing his Bachelor's degree, Micah held the title of concertmaster in the University of the Pacific Symphony Orchestra for three years, and was selected as one of three winners of the Pacific Concerto Competition. He also co-founded the student-led 28/78 New Music Ensemble, which premiered new chamber works by Scott Nelson, Julie Herndon, and Yoshiaki Onishi.
An avid chamber musician, Micah has spent his summers training and performing at music festivals led by Imani Winds and the New York based DeCoda ensemble.
As a violinist, drummer, and vocalist with performance experience in classical, jazz, folk, and popular music, Micah incorporates a wide variety of influences and techniques into his teaching style, while still maintaining a strong focus on fundamental violin technique.
