Violin & Piano Lessons with Jason Jacobs

My name is Jason Jacobs. I am a graduate of Michigan State University, and have taught strings since 1989. My primary instrument is violin, but I also have significant experience teaching viola, cello and bass. I have taught students from 3-50 years old, in a variety of settings including public schools, Suzuki strings programs, summer camps, chamber ensembles, and community orchestras. I believe all people can learn to play music at a certain level, and I tailor instruction to meet the needs of individual students/groups. I am an avid jazz fan, and enjoy learning to improvise through practicing and attending local jam sessions in Madison. I retired from full time public school teaching in June, 2024, and am currently enjoying a part time career of teaching and conducting.
