Piano Lessons with Vivian C.

Vivian C. grew up in central Ohio, where she began taking piano lessons at the age of five. She received her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from The Ohio State University in 2020, studying with Professor Steven Glaser. Vivian graduated with her master's degree in Piano Performance with Dr. Laura Melton at Bowling Green State University in 2022, where she was also a graduate assistant collaborative pianist. Through this graduate assistantship, Vivian developed a love for the art of collaborative piano. She was active in playing chamber and duo music and earned 2nd place in the Douglas Wayland Chamber Music Competition and 3rd place in the Dr. Marjorie Conrad Art Song Competition, both held at Bowling Green State University. Previously, Vivian also studied flute in middle school and continued through her undergraduate degree and participated in concert band. After graduating, she taught at several studios and collaborated with high school and college students in juries and solo & ensemble performances. Outside of music, Vivian loves hiking, rock climbing, camping, trying new restaurants, and exploring all that California has to offer.y under the instruction of Ann Montzka Smelser, where she also served as President of the Evanston Young Artists program, a non-profit organization that provides free lessons to underserved students in the Chicago area. In her free time, Solveig enjoys hiking, knitting, running, and hanging out with her cat, Autumn.
