Violin & Piano Lessons with Myra H.

Violin and piano teacher Myra H. recently finished doctoral work at the University of California, San Diego. Before that, she lived and worked in Chicago after graduating from Oberlin College and Conservatory and the Civic Orchestra training program. She has 16 years of teaching experience working with violinists of all ages and has completed Level 2 of Suzuki training under Professor Vera McCoy-Sulentic.

As a performer, Myra is a member of Chartreuse, a string trio devoted to performing the music of living composers from around the world. She has also appeared with ensembles including the Arkansas Symphony, dal niente, 3+1 Quartet, Mucca Pazza, mocrep, the Morton Feldman Chamber Players, the Madison Symphony, a.pe.ri.od.ic, and has participated in festivals such as the Finger Lakes Opera, Aspen Music Festival, and Spoleto USA. Always eager to explore new kinds of music, she has collaborated with indie bands, folk singers, and free improvisers.

Myra hopes to share with her students how profoundly music can connect us to each other.
