Piano Lessons with Sharon H.

Dr. Sharon How holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from the University of Houston and a Master’s degree from the University of Maryland, where she received competitive scholarships and teaching assistantships at both institutions. A prizewinner in multiple piano competitions, she has performed internationally as a soloist and chamber musician in concert venues across Brussels, Turkey, the United States, and various countries in Asia.

As a piano pedagogue, Dr. How combines a strong technical foundation with a deep focus on musical expression. Many students face similar challenges: wrist tension, inefficient practice, wide gap between musical intention and execution, or practising for hours without improvement. Dr. How is passionate about working closely with students to address these common issues and correcting poor technique or practice habits, so that students will be capable of intelligent, productive practice. Above all, her goal is to foster meaningful and rewarding musical growth for every piano student.
