Piano and Guitar Lessons with Jake G.

Jake G grew up in small-town Iowa in a musical family and took to playing music at a young age. As a teen, he played guitar and sang in a rock band and was involved in drumline, choir, jazz band, and school musicals. Since then, Jake has studied at multiple music schools. He received his associate’s degree in jazz studies at SWCC School for Music Vocations and then received his bachelor’s degree in music and voice at the University of Iowa. At these programs, he expanded on his musical skills by learning piano, music theory, and composition. He was also involved in numerous solo and ensemble performances both as a singer and multi-instrumentalist, including piano and guitar.

Nowadays, Jake spends his days in Denver with his wife, Shelby, and their dog, Otis. His hobbies include running, hiking, reading, video/board games, movies, and basketball. He is passionate about teaching newer musicians how to play piano and guitar, all while helping students gain more knowledge and confidence with reading and playing music of various styles. He believes in working at every individual students pace with a growth mindset in order to achieve long-lasting musical joy and success.
