Brianne Sargent, Cello

Brianne Sargent began playing cello at the age of 12, composing at the age of 16 and playing bass at the age of 21. She is an alumna of the DSO’s Young Strings program and teaches with them occasionally. After studying at Booker T. Washington HSPVA, she completed her high school education at Interlochen Academy in Michigan. She graduated in 2010 from the Baldwin-Wallace Music Conservatory where she studied with Regina Mushabac, teaching apprentice to the legendary Janos Starker. Brianne is currently a cellist in the Odysseus Chamber Orchestra, leads the genre-bending band Skinny Cooks and plays bass, cello and synthesizer across North Texas. In 2017, Brianne was a guest artist in the Soluna Festival, sound designed the play Where Earth Meets The Sky for Cara Mia Theatre and was a featured artist in KERA’s Art & Seek. Brianne also was featured in Voyager Dallas Magazine in the summer of 2018.
