Piano Lessons with Jessica T.
Hello! My name is Jessica Turner, and I’m excited to share my love of music and piano with my students! I am the oldest of six children, and music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. When we were all 6 years old, my mom started each of us on piano, and I quickly fell in love with the instrument. The piano has remained my favorite instrument ever since. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to study and play works by composers such as Bach, Beethoven, Granados, Mozart, and many others. I also play the organ and have recently started exploring the violin!
I earned my degree in Education with a minor in Music and have spent more than 15 years working in education as a teacher, dean, assistant headmaster, and founding headmaster. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with children and young people in a variety of settings, and I have taught piano, organ, and music theory to students ranging from 6 to 16 years old.
Now, as a mom to a 2 year old, I’m excited to step outside of the traditional classroom and spend more time doing something I truly love: sharing music with students. I especially enjoy teaching beginners and helping them build a strong foundation, but I also love working with intermediate and advanced students as they develop their technique, musicality, confidence, and personal connection to music.
My goal is for every student to feel encouraged and successful while learning to play. Whether a student is sitting at the piano for the very first time or working toward mastering a challenging piece, I want lessons to be a positive experience that builds both musical skills and a lifelong appreciation for music. I’m so excited to share my knowledge, experience, and passion for music with the next generation of musicians!
