Piano & Guitar Lessons with Ian E.
Hailing from Lafayette, Louisiana, Ian is composer, multi-instrumentalist, and graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory’s TIMARA (Technology in Music and Related Arts) program, the oldest electroacoustic composition program at any classical conservatory in the world. A classically-trained pianist from a young age, Ian employs piano, guitar, flute, banjo, granular synthesis, field-recordings, sampling, and multi-channel audio/video installation to create compositions that have garnered praise from much of the academic music scene. Mentored by composers Tom Lopez, Peter Swendson, and Aurie Hsu, Ian’s compositions have been programmed for multiple notable academic music conferences, including N_SEME (The National Student Electronic Music Event) and SEAMUS (the Society for Electro-Acoustic Music in the United States).
Aside from providing lessons in piano and guitar, Ian works as an audio engineer. When not making music he enjoys hanging out with his pet birds, watching films, and playing video games.
