Piano Lessons with Jih-Ting C.
Dr. Jih-Ting C. was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and began studying piano at the age of seven. She earned her Doctor of Musical Arts degree (2024) and Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Taipei National University of the Arts in Taipei, Taiwan.
Dr. Chen has performed in international festivals and competitions and has given numerous solo and collaborative recitals. She is an active collaborative pianist, working extensively with chamber musicians, ensembles, singers, choirs, and contemporary composers in both Taiwan and the United States. She has particular expertise as an accompanist for woodwind instruments and has also served as a church pianist. She has participated in masterclasses with distinguished pianists including Ruth Slenczynska, Chantal de Buchy, Fang-Yi Lee, James Tocco, Elisabeth Pridonoff, Caroline Hong, and Robert McDonald.
In addition to her performing career, Dr. Chen is an accomplished piano pedagogue with over fourteen years of teaching experience in Taiwan and the United States. Her students have received numerous competition prizes and commendations from competition committees in both Taiwan and the U.S. Her principal teachers include Professor Michael Chertock, Professor Eugene Pridonoff, and Dr. Chia-Hui Tsai.
