Cello & Piano Lessons with Anna M.

Anna M. is a dedicated music educator and double bassist who brings warmth, patience, and professional performance experience to every lesson. Her mission as a teacher is to share her passion for music in a way that enriches the lives of her students, helping them develop both strong musical skills and a lasting appreciation for music.

Anna completed her undergraduate studies in Music Education and Music Performance at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), where she studied double bass with Rachel Calin. She earned her Master’s degree in Double Bass Performance at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, studying with renowned bassist Kurt Muroki.

As a teacher, Anna values meaningful connections and enjoys working with students from a variety of backgrounds and experience levels. Her calm demeanor and positive mindset create an encouraging learning environment where students can approach challenges with confidence. Anna believes that difficult musical concepts become much more manageable when broken down into thoughtful, achievable steps, and she strives to help each student develop the tools to become an independent and expressive musician. Anna has 5 years of experience teaching cello, bass, violin, viola and piano.

Anna’s extensive orchestral experience includes performances with Indiana University orchestras, CCM Concert Orchestra, CCM Philharmonia, Kentucky Symphony, and New Albany Symphony. She has also participated in prestigious summer programs including the National Orchestral Institute, Orford Musique, Le Domaine Forget, Kinhaven Young Artist Seminar, and Eastern Music Festival’s String Leadership Program.

Throughout her training, Anna has performed in masterclasses for Martin Rosso, Joe Conyers, Nina DeCesare, Jeff Turner, and Paul Ellison, with additional instruction from Larry Hurst, Craig Brown, and Owen Lee. She brings the knowledge gained from these experiences into her teaching, inspiring students to remain curious, work through challenges, and discover their own connection to music.
