Piano, Voice & Guitar Lessons with Christina B.
Christina is an experienced piano and voice teacher who loves discovering what excites students about music and helping them build on their individual strengths. As a performer and artist, Christina also coaches students interested in songwriting, live performance, music production, forming a band, and navigating the music industry.
Christina began studying classical piano with acclaimed pianist Linda Gleichman and, after high school, became a principal keyboardist and harmony vocalist for one of the country’s largest megachurches. Later, Christina moved to New York to pursue a music career, founding an indie rock band that developed a cult following. As the frontwoman and keyboardist, Christina co-produced four original albums that charted on college radio and earned praise from Spin, Magnet, and Billboard. Extensive touring followed, with performances alongside artists such as Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Kate Nash, Nick Waterhouse, and Lucius.
A coloratura soprano, Christina has studied voice for over fifteen years with teachers including opera singer Jordan Ferrar and jazz vocalist Anaïs Maviel. This diverse background allows Christina to support vocal students in combining healthy vocal technique with contemporary singing styles.
Throughout a teaching career of over eight years that has included more than a hundred students, Christina has drawn on a variety of approaches, including the Faber piano method and Bel Canto-informed vocal techniques, along with chord theory and ear training, to make learning fun, practical, and rewarding.
