Born and raised in the vibrant city of Miami to Colombian parents, Ashley Gomez discovered her passion for music at the age of seven, when she began playing the violin under the guidance of Mrs. Laura Wilcox at the Deering Estate. This early exposure laid the foundation for her remarkable journey as a violinist and community advocate. She received her Bachelor’s of Music in Violin Performance at Florida International University, Ashley studied under the esteemed Misha Vitenson.

She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Chicago at DePaul School of Music. Her dedication has earned her numerous accolades, including masterclasses with distinguished musicians like Arnold Steinhardt, Clive Greensmith, and Lawrence Dutton. She has performed as the Concertmaster of the FIU Symphony Orchestra, toured Spain with the Wertheim Camerata, and collaborated with virtuosos such as Ani Kavafian and the Amernet String Quartet.

Ashley's musical career is adorned with high-profile collaborations. She has performed with Grammy-winning artist Tony Succar and for the legendary Emilio Estefan. Her exceptional talents have been showcased on international stages, including Italy, where she performed in cities like Rome and Florence, and at prestigious festivals such as the Benedetti Festival and Festival Del Lago in Mexico. In her role with the National Youth Orchestra, she worked under luminaries like Mei-Ann Chen and Carlos Miguel Prieto and collaborated with composer Jessie Montgomery through the Sphinx Organization.

A committed educator and leader, Ashley has taught violin and viola to young students at institutions like Gulliver Prep and Kids N Notes, nurturing the next generation of musicians. She has also participated in the New World Symphony's Side-by-Side mentorship program under Michael Tilson Thomas, further solidifying her commitment to community engagement and artistic excellence. Beyond music, Ashley is an active community volunteer. She dedicates time to beach cleanups, food shelters, donation drives, and raising money for charitable causes. Her involvement in programs like Women of Tomorrow reflects her passion for mentorship and empowerment. On campus, she brings her love of rhythm and culture to the FIU Salsa Club. Ashley's talents and leadership have been recognized through numerous honors, including winning the GMYS Concerto Competition and awards like the Debbie MucarselPowell distinction. Her multifaceted interests—spanning basketball, swimming, and bullet journaling— complement her vibrant personality and relentless drive for excellence. With a deep appreciation for collaboration, education, and artistry, Ashley Gomez continues to leave an indelible mark on the music world and her community. Her journey reflects a harmonious blend of talent, passion,and service.
