McKenzie Fetters, Violin & Viola Teacher

McKenzie Fetters, violin, completed her undergraduate studies at Lawrence University, where she earned a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance and a Bachelor of Arts in English. At the Lawrence University Conservatory, she was elected President of Fiddlers of Lawrence University and to the Pi Kappa Lambda music honors society. Her past violin teachers include Professor Wen-Lei Gu of Lawrence University and Professor Elisabeth Small of Belmont University. For summer festivals, she has attended the Decoda Skidmore Chamber Music Institute at Skidmore College and Credo Chamber Music Camp at Oberlin Conservatory. McKenzie has served as concertmaster of the Lawrence University Symphony Orchestra and the TN Mid-State Honors Orchestra. In 2014, she placed first in the Strings Category of the Thor Johnson Scholarship Competition with the Nashville Symphony. McKenzie enjoys playing fiddle and alternative folk styles in addition to classical violin, and she remains passionate about community outreach and education. When she is not playing her violin, McKenzie can be found playing with her black cat Nightfall, hiking outside, or reading a good book.
