Kelsey Boltz
Chicago cellist Kelsey Boltz is originally from Pennsylvania. She began her cello studies at the age of 9 and went on to study music at Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and a Master’s degree in Cello Performance from Northern Illinois University. Kelsey studied with multiple teachers, including Kathleen Embriani, Andrew Rammon, Jeffrey Jacobsen, and Cheng-Hou Lee. Playing in ensembles both large and small is her passion, and she has performed with the Northern Tier Symphony Orchestra, NICO, Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Fox Valley Orchestra, and Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra.
She believes the joy of playing an instrument should be available to everyone no matter their economic background, and strives to bring these opportunities to others through her work in Fox Valley Orchestra’s El Sistema Program, providing music programs and opportunities in underserved communities. Kelsey teaches violin, viola, cello and piano.
