Jack Peterson, Cello

Jack Peterson began studying the cello at age 13 under Professor Paul York at the University of Louisville School of Music in Louisville, Kentucky. He studied at the Youth Performing Arts School as an Orchestral Cello Studies major and went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree in Cello Performance from the Eastman School of Music where he studied with Steven Doane and Alan Harris. Jack has attended a number of reputable summer institutes, some of which include the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, Bowdoin International Music Festival and the Pierre Monteux School.

In addition to teaching and performing, Peterson enjoys regularly crossing genres with the cello, performing, collaborating and recording with a variety of bands around Chicago and the Midwest.
