Guitar Lessons with Nissim T
Nissim T is guitarist, vocalist, and keyboardist with a music degree from Columbia College Chicago. With 18 years of music experience, Nissim first started as a self taught musician on guitar which served as an advantage, giving him a much more personal relationship with music.
During and after his training at Columbia, Nissim branched out by playing with bands for several years, before starting a career as a solo artist and music instructor. He has worked with students within group settings, instilling young musicians with the confidence and skills to perform. As well as this, he has taught one-on-one lessons from ages five through adulthood, covering the fundamentals of guitar, voice and keyboard.
Nissim's philosophy around teaching stems from the inspiration that drove him to pick up the guitar in the first place. He believes that the passion to learn music begins with intrinsic motivation, often aided by musical role models, teachers, and the support of parents from an early age. When working with a student of any skill level, Nissim asks: "What would you love to learn?", while also recognizing the significance of leading students through their first steps by introducing them to new styles, techniques, and covering the fundamentals that build solid musicianship.
When it comes to level of seriousness, he understands that meeting students where they're at is also crucial toward creating a fun learning environment. Whether your child already has a passion for music, or is interested in flexing their creating muscle, or you simply want to introduce them to a valuable life skill, Nissim believes music can have a place in their lives. Some students may take to learning music very quickly, guiding the lessons themselves toward their specific interests, while others may view it as a fun activity to occasionally immerse themselves in. Whichever the case, there is certainly a path toward their goals with Nissim as their instructor.
