Cello Lessons with Francisco G.
Austrian-born Venezuelan-American cellist, Francisco G., is an accomplished performer and dedicated educator from the Greater Houston Area. He is currently pursuing his graduate studies at DePaul University under the mentorship of Stephen Balderston and Dr. Melissa Kraut.
In Houston, he worked as a teaching artist for the Houston Youth Symphony’s Coda and Melody programs, and was an original member of the Latin Cello Choir. Francisco has been invited to serve as a region judge, clinician, and sectional coach for multiple school districts, and has taught chamber music with the American Festival of the Arts. His students consistently earn recognition at UIL state competitions. He is also a founder of the Fort Bend Cello Choir, the Katy Youth Symphony Cello Choir, and the Latin Cello Summer Camp.
Francisco earned his Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance from the University ofHouston, where he studied with Anthony Kitai. He continued his studies with Courtenay Vandiver-Pereira and received Suzuki Method training with Dr. Tanya Carey and Avi Friedlander. Earlier in his career, he was a member of Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music pre-college under the tutelage of Cornelia Watkins.
