Chicago based Anthony Jose Oviedo is a music teacher at Dewey Elementary Academy and also serves as an Orchestra Conductor and Strings Teaching Artist at The People's Music School. Born in Venezuela and raised in Argentina, Anthony's musical journey began within the renowned El Sistema program, shaping his dedication to music education.

Anthony holds a robust educational background, earning a Master's degree in Musicology and Music Education from Western Illinois University. His Bachelor's degree reflects a unique blend of talents, encompassing Business Administration, Viola performance, and Music Education. He holds a Professional Educator License with an Endorsement in Instrumental Music PK-12, demonstrating his commitment to excellence in teaching.

With a diverse teaching experience, Anthony has made significant contributions to various institutions. Currently, he serves as an Orchestra Conductor at The People's Music School, where he shares his expertise and passion for music with aspiring musicians. His teaching roles at Dewey Elementary Academy, SPC Daniel Zizumbo Elementary, and Miguel Juarez Middle School underscore his dedication to fostering musical talent at different educational levels.

Anthony's commitment extends beyond the classroom, as evidenced by his role as a Violin-Viola Teaching Artist at Reach Teach and Play El Sistema Ravinia in New York City and Venezuela. His global performance experience includes playing with orchestras in Venezuela, the United States, and touring internationally, showcasing the richness of his musical background.
