Violin and Viola Lessons with Colton S.

Colton is a talented and accomplished musician, performer, and creative based in Newton, MA. He has devoted his life to the world of music, excelling both academically and professionally.

Having honed his skills at the renowned Interlochen Arts Academy, Colton received a high school diploma with a focus on viola performance. Throughout his time at Interlochen, he earned a Merit Scholarship and consistently achieved recognition on the Scholastic Honor Roll.

His passion for music led him to pursue a Bachelor's degree in String Performance, specializing in viola, at the prestigious Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Colton's dedication and exceptional talent earned him the highest honor of graduating Summa Cum Laude. During his college years, he was mentored by distinguished instructors Lila Brown and Rictor Noren and received the Merit Scholarship, Jennie Chan Named Scholarship, and consistently maintained a place on the Scholastic Honor Roll.

Colton's dedication to music extends beyond personal achievements, as he actively contributes to the music community. Presently, he serves as a Viola Teaching Artist at the Boston Music Project, where he imparts his knowledge to students of different age groups and skill levels. Additionally, he volunteers as a Teacher's Assistant at the Boston String Academy, supporting instructors and assisting in group and individual lessons.

With a history of significant involvement in the music community, Colton emerges as a promising young performer, creative, and educator. His unwavering commitment to music and sharing its beauty with others makes him an invaluable asset to any musical pursuit.

In addition to teaching, he has been an educator in various capacities including substitute teaching for early and head start programs in Philadelphia, and a substitute teacher for Richmond City Public Schools. His teaching style is friendly with a flexible approach to each individual student.
